# What are the steps I need to take to properly terminate an employee in Pennsylvania?

To properly terminate an employee in Pennsylvania, there are several steps that an employer must take to avoid any legal repercussions:

1. Review the employment contract: Employers should review the employment contract, if any, and ensure that the termination does not breach any terms of the contract. Employers must also ensure that the termination does not violate any state or federal anti-discrimination laws.
2. Give adequate notice: Pennsylvania is an at-will employment state, which means that employers can terminate employees for any reason or no reason at all, as long as it is not discriminatory or in breach of the employment contract.
