# What are the steps I need to take to form a new business entity in Florida?

To form a new business entity in Florida, you must follow several steps:

1. **Choose a Name:** The first step in forming a business in Florida is to choose a name for your business entity. You can check the availability of a name on the [Florida Department of State website](https://dos.myflorida.com/).
2. **Select an Entity Type:** Next, you will need to decide what type of business entity you want to create. The most common types of business entities in Florida are: 
     - Limited Liability Company (LLC)
     - Corporation
     - Partnership
3. **File Articles of Incorporation/Organization:** After choosing a name and selecting an entity type, you will need to file articles of incorporation/organization with the Florida Department of State. The required documents and fees may vary depending on the type of entity you choose.
4. **Obtain a Tax ID Number:** All businesses in Florida must obtain a tax ID number, also known as an Employer Identification Number (EIN), from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
