# What are the steps I need to take to form a limited liability company (LLC) in Florida?

To form a limited liability company (LLC) in Florida, you must follow the following steps:

1. Choose a name for your LLC: The name must include the words "Limited Liability Company," "LLC," or "L.L.C." It must be unique and should not be similar to any existing business in the state of Florida.
2. Choose a registered agent: A registered agent is a person or company authorized to receive legal documents on behalf of the LLC. The agent must be a resident of Florida or a business entity authorized to do business in the state.
3. File Articles of Organization: You must file Articles of Organization with the Florida Division of Corporations. The document must include the name of the LLC, the registered agent's name and address, and the LLC's purpose.

5. Draft an operating agreement: An operating agreement is a legal document that outlines the ownership and management structure of the LLC. While it is not required by law in Florida, it is highly recommended to have one for your LLC.
6. Obtain any necessary licenses and permits: Depending on the nature of your business, you may need to obtain licenses and permits from the state and local government.
