# What are the qualifications required for obtaining an O-1 visa as an individual of extraordinary ability in my field?

5. Evidence of original contributions of major significance in the field;

7. Performance in a lead, starring, or critical role in distinguished productions or events;
8. Evidence of commercial success in the performing arts.

It is crucial to note that the criteria listed above are not an exhaustive list of possibilities, and additional evidence may be provided as proof of extraordinary ability in a particular field.

Additionally, applicants for an O-1 visa in the arts or entertainment industry must demonstrate that they have a distinguished career in their respective fields and have obtained, or will obtain significant recognition for their achievements. An advisory opinion is also required to be submitted with the application, stating that the applicant has extraordinary ability in their field and that their proposed work in the United States is in the field of their extraordinary ability.

It is essential to have a well-documented and persuasive application to increase the chances of obtaining an O-1 visa. It may be helpful to seek the assistance of an experienced attorney to assist in assembling the required evidence and preparing the application.

In conclusion, to obtain an O-1 visa, the applicant must demonstrate sustained national or international acclaim, and their extraordinary ability in their field, with evidence of major awards or at least three of the eight listed criteria.
