# What are the most common types of medical malpractice cases you handle?

# Types of Medical Malpractice Cases

As a lawyer, the most common types of medical malpractice cases I handle include:

1. ## Misdiagnosis or Delayed Diagnosis
   
   In this type of case, a healthcare professional fails to diagnose a medical condition, or delays the diagnosis, resulting in harm to the patient. This can occur when the healthcare professional fails to order necessary tests, misinterprets test results, or ignores symptoms reported by the patient.
2. ## Surgical Errors
   
   Surgical errors are another common type of medical malpractice case. These errors can include operating on the wrong body part, leaving instruments or equipment inside the patient, or causing nerve damage during surgery. These errors can result in prolonged recovery times, additional surgeries, or even death.
3. ## Medication Errors
   
   Medication errors occur when a healthcare professional gives the wrong medication or the wrong dose, resulting in harm to the patient. These errors can occur during prescription, dispensing, or administration of the medication.
4. ## Birth Injuries
   
   Birth injuries can occur during the labor or delivery process, and can result in lifelong disabilities or death. These injuries can be caused by a variety of factors, including medical negligence or the use of excessive force during delivery.
5. ## Nursing Home Abuse or Neglect
   
   This type of malpractice occurs when a healthcare professional in a nursing home or long-term care facility fails to provide needed medical care, or engages in abusive behavior towards a resident. This can result in physical injuries, emotional trauma, or death.

It is important to note that each case is unique and there may be other types of medical malpractice cases that can arise. It is recommended that if an individual believes they have been the victim of medical malpractice, they seek the advice of a licensed attorney to discuss their legal options.
