# What are the eligibility requirements for the EB-1 visa for individuals with extraordinary abilities?

# Eligibility Requirements for the EB-1 Visa

As a lawyer, I can provide guidance on the eligibility requirements for the EB-1 visa for individuals with extraordinary abilities. The EB-1 visa is a category of employment-based visa that is designed for those people who have extraordinary abilities in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics.

## Requirements for the EB-1 Visa

1. Extraordinary ability: The primary eligibility criterion for the EB-1 visa is extraordinary ability in the individual's field of expertise. This means that the applicant must have risen to the top of their field of work or have sustained a level of achievement that is recognized on a national or international level. They must provide extensive documentation of their achievements, such as awards, published works or media recognition.
2. International recognition: The individual must demonstrate that their achievements have been recognized or acclaimed internationally in their field of work, either through a one-time achievement (major international prize or award) or through a series of achievements in their field.
3. Intent to work in the US: The applicant must demonstrate the intent to continue working in their field of expertise in the United States.
4. Job offer: The individual must have a U.S. employer willing to sponsor their EB-1 visa application, and they must demonstrate that the job offer is related to their extraordinary abilities.

It is also important to note that there are certain limitations to the EB-1 visa. For example, there is a cap on the number of EB-1 visas that are issued each year. Additionally, there are specific criteria and documentation requirements that must be met to demonstrate extraordinary abilities.
