# What are the eligibility criteria for obtaining an EB-1 visa as a person of extraordinary ability in the field of science or arts?

To qualify for an EB-1 visa as a person of extraordinary ability in the field of science or arts, an individual must meet certain eligibility criteria. These criteria include:

1. **Extraordinary Ability:** The individual must demonstrate extraordinary ability in their field. This means that they must have sustained national or international acclaim, which can be demonstrated through publication, awards, presentations, or similar types of evidence.
2. **National/International Recognition:** The individual must show that their achievements have been recognized in their field either nationally or internationally.
3. **Proven Track Record:** The individual must have at least three of the ten listed criteria of evidence that demonstrate their extraordinary ability.
4. **Job Offer:** The individual must have a job offer from a U.S. employer in their field of extraordinary ability.
5. **Visa Availability:** The individual must also meet the requirements for visa availability, which are determined by the U.S. Department of State.

It is important to note that the EB-1 visa is highly selective and requires extensive documentation to support the individual's extraordinary ability. While meeting these criteria does not guarantee approval of the visa, it is necessary to demonstrate eligibility in each of the areas outlined above.

Furthermore, it may be helpful for the applicant to consult with an experienced immigration attorney who specializes in EB-1 visa cases, to ensure that all necessary documentation is submitted and any limitations or exceptions to eligibility are considered.
